THE INTEGRATED SOCIETY
Post Graduate Design Thesis
LOCATION: HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM
Winning several respected plaudits for its contextual relevance and intuitive sustainable approach (including a nomination for the RIBA Presidents Medal and a mention in the Architects Journal) this body of work characterises my passion for socially influential architecture and future proof design.
Characterising my fascination with the evolving urban environment and the impacts design can have upon the end-user, the resulting body of work prototyped a future vision for high-density, integrated city-scape; enshrining a functional, culturally sensitive urban context within a transitional, spontaneously adaptable, modular framework.
THE INTEGRATED SOCIETY - FACILITATING SOCIAL EVOLUTION THROUGH DESIGN
This body of work was a personal project completed as part of the post graduate course at The University of Huddersfield, 2010 - 2012.
“...the standout student was Jake Barrow with his plans for modular insertions into the urban fabric of a ‘transitional Vietnamese city’. Clever and do-able.”
